Solid-cast tires “Superelastic ” are highly elastic massive tires designed for use in extreme operating conditions. Due to the design features and high shock-absorbing properties, they have wider capabilities compared to other types of massive tires.
Solid-cast massive tires do not require special maintenance, they have high operational reliability and safety and provide higher maneuverability in cramped conditions, their use contributes to more economical consumption of fuel and electricity.
Uralshina LLC is the only plant in Russia that has an author’s patented method of producing three-layer solid-cast tires. In addition, the company’s specialists have seriously refined the formulation of rubber mixtures based on the use of 90% natural and 10% synthetic rubber.
The warranty period of operation of massive tires “Superelastic” produced by Uralshina LLC is 1500-2500 engine hours.
Applicable scope
Solid-cast superelastic tires are used on forklifts and other loaders with a load capacity of up to 3 tons inclusive. They are indispensable in the conditions of metalworking and machine-building plants, where there is a high probability of damage to the wheels by metal shavings or other sharp objects. In addition, such tires are equipped with municipal equipment, scrap loaders, some types of excavators and other special equipment. Superelastic tires are used on relatively flat, solid bases.
A wide standard-size range of solid-cast superelastic tires manufactured by Uralshina LLC allows them to be used on loaders manufactured by companies: JSC “MZiK”, Nissan, Balcankar, Lemmens, Rocla, Linde, Boss, Daewoo, Marubeni, Hyster, Bobcat, BT, LMY, Clark, Toyota, Mitsubishi, Komatsu, Dressta, Kalmar, Case.
Construction of solid-cast tires
The all-cast tire “Superelastic” of the Uralshina brand consists of three layers — internal landing, intermediate damping and external tread. Each layer is made of different materials that affect the elastic modulus of the tire in different ways.
- The inner landing layer is used to secure the tire to the wheel rim. In the landing part of the Superelastic tire, in addition to polyamide cord fibers, a rigid ring structure made of steel wire is provided. The tire is mounted on the rim by deforming the landing part, due to radial and axial tension.
- The middle damping layer is more elastic, it provides shock absorption of the tire and heat removal from the rubber array.
- The outer tread layer is responsible for the quality of traction with the road surface, as well as course stability and cross-country ability.
Advantages of solid-cast tires “Superelastic”
In comparison with conventional pneumatic tires, solid-cast Superelastic tires have obvious advantages.
Extended service life.
The walking life of solid-cast “superelastic” tires is 2 — 2.5 times higher. The wide profile and flat imprint of these tires makes them more stable, so when driving, the loads are distributed as evenly as possible over the entire area of the tire and, thus, increased wear is excluded in certain areas. The tire lasts much longer.
High resistance to external influences
Solid tires are highly resistant to punctures and cuts, they will continue to work even if a metal object is embedded in the rubber array, and in addition, they have high resistance to abrasion.
Increased safety of equipment operation
Thanks to the three-layer construction, the strength, rigidity and shock absorption ability of the superelastic tires are perfectly balanced. Such tires do not deform under load, they are more stable. They take on all the energy of the blows when moving on uneven grounds. This ensures the safety of the suspension and transmission of the vehicle, as well as the safety of the driver.
Higher load capacity
Superelastic tires have a higher load capacity compared to pneumatic tires of the same size. This makes it possible to use them more efficiently when storing goods at a height of 5 to 7.5 m.
Reduction of energy costs for movement
The use of “Superelastic ” tires reduces energy costs for movement by 10-15%. A special tread provides maximum grip on various types of road surfaces, which facilitates movement and allows you to operate the engine in a less stressful mode.
Lack of constant maintenance
Solid-cast massive tires “Superelastic ” do not require special maintenance, in particular, replacing the camera or pumping up.
Interchangeability
Superelastic tires are completely interchangeable with pneumatic tires, since they are mounted on one and the same rims. Thus, it becomes possible to expand the scope of application of loaders.

*Rim designation according to the “ETRTO”standard
The tests carried out showed that the solid-cast tires of the Russian brand “Uralshina” withstand loads much higher than those stated in the technical conditions. So, the massive tires “Superelastic” 4.00-8 can withstand a load of 3000 kg at a speed of 25 km / h. When the speed limit decreases, their load capacity increases more than twice. These tires are successfully used to complete the latest models of SHKPL-12 bulk stackers on wheels, used as conveyors for transshipment of bulk cargo in ports and railway terminals.
